-Spring 2016 Registrations begin January 1st.


Are there workshop discounts?

Yes, workshop discounts are NOW available!


Group discounts are available to groups of 7 or more participants registering together for the same 1-day classroom workshop.  Groups participating will not only receive a tuition discount of $140.00 per credit hour, but are also guaranteed the workshop will be held.*  To register for a group discount, please mail all 7 (or more) paper registration forms with each $140.00 tuition payment to the School of Education at Quincy University before the registration deadline.  Group discount registrations are not available for phone or online registrations. 


*The workshop is guaranteed to be held under the stipulation that participants do not withdraw from the workshop decreasing enrollment numbers to less than 5 participants.       

 

How do I register?

   When is the registration deadline?

 

    -The deadline to register is by noon 2 business days before the workshop date.  Please see the registration deadline chart below.

  The deadline to register for VESi courses is two weeks before the end of the semester. While VESi courses are at-your-own-pace courses, they typically take 4-6 weeks to complete. Please plan your registration with this in mind.

 

How do I find the workshop location?

  -Workshop location maps are located here. 

 

How do I know if my workshop is going to be held?

-Participants will receive an e-mail from the workshop coordinator by 5 PM the day prior to the workshop date. This e-mail will include driving directions, maps of the school, extra information regarding the workshop, and room numbers.  The e-mail given at the time of registration will be the e-mail address used.

 

What if my workshop is cancelled?

-Participants will receive an e-mail notifying them of a cancelled workshop.  A full refund will be issued for those workshops that are cancelled.  This refund does not include convenience fees.

 

How do I request a transcript?

-To request a transcript for an official grade report, please call the Quincy University Registrar’s Office at 217-228-5280 or click here.

 

When will my grades be available?

 -Grades are due from the instructors 3 weeks after the workshop date.  Please allow 3 weeks after completion and material submission for grades to be released.   

 

What does “IP” stand for on my unofficial grade report?

-“IP” stands for “In Progress.”  If the workshop does not have a grade, an IP will appear on your grade report.  When grades are received a new report will be mailed to you with a letter grade in place of the IP.

 

When is the end of the semester?

-The Fall semester ends December 1st.  The Spring semester ends May 1st.  The Summer semester ends August 1st. 

Reminder: All materials for Mind University and VESI must be submitted by the semester deadline.  Classroom workshops may be presented after the semester deadline.

 

When are my materials due to VESI or Mind University?

-Materials are due to VESI and Mind University by December 1st for the Fall semester, by May 1st for the Spring semester, and by August 1st for the summer semester.  Submitted materials must be post marked no later than the semester deadline date. 

 

What is the refund policy?

-If a workshop is cancelled by the Quincy University Graduate Credit Office, the full tuition paid by student will be refunded.  This refund does not include convenience fees.

 

-If student does not notify the Quincy University Graduate Credit Office of his/her intent not to attend a workshop by the Registration Deadline for that workshop, there will be no tuition refund.

-Regarding Virtual Education Software, Inc. (VESi) courses - written notification of withdrawal from the course and return of CDs to VESi is required for refunds.  Refunds are computed from the date course packet was sent out.  Refund amounts are based on the following schedule:

  • First week from date course packet sent out - No Charge
  • Second week from date course packet sent out - 25% of tuition charged
  • Third week from date course packet sent out -  50% of tuition charged
  • Fourth week from date course packet sent out - 75% of tuition charged
  • Fifth week from date course packet sent out - 100% of tuition charged

Can I get an extension for VESi and Mind University workshops?

     -It is possible that your instructor may allow you additional time.  You must contact the instructor.   For the semester you registered, your grade will be recorded "IN," provided an extension was granted.  You have only the following semester to complete the course.  Any coursework not completed by the end of the next semester will result in course failure.  Your grade will change from "IN" to "F." 

If your work is completed in the extension period, you will receive one letter grade deduction.  For example, you earned a grade of an "A" at the end of the second semester extension period.  Then your grade of record will be a "B."



Do these workshops count for Graduate Credit?

-Yes, Quincy University Graduate Credit Workshops count for graduate credit.  All course numbers read MSE 5 XX ###.  MSE stands for Master in Science in Education.  The number 5 denotes the workshop is a 500 level class.  The next two letters indicate the workshop topic and the course number.  EX: “Learning Disabilities” is MSE5SP101.  (SP stands for a Special Education topic and course number 101.


Why is there a 3% convenience fee for credit cards? Is there a fee to pay online by check?

-Quincy University utilizes Tuition Management Systems, Inc. (TMS) as the payment option for Graduate Credit Workshops. TMS is a secure way for University students to make online tuition payments. The company does charge a non-refundable convenience fee for credit card transactions, but does not charge for online check payments. To read more, please visit the TMS Website.

-Printable receipts of your workshop payment are available to those who register online.  Additional receipts may be requested from the Workshop Coordinator at 217-228-5420 or workshops@quincy.edu.

What do I do if my contact information has changed?

-If your contact information has changed, please contact the Workshop Coordinator at workshops@quincy.edu or 217-228-5420.  These changes include phone number, address, change of name, and e-mail address.  It is the workshop participants responsibility to update the School of Education with any changes.

Does Quincy University offer Professional Development Hour courses?

-Yes, Quincy University is partnered with Virtual Education Software, Inc (VESI) to provide affordable Contact Hours.  All VESI courses are offered for Contact Hours or graduate credit.  Contact Hour courses do not require writing assignments. 

Contact Hours for VESI courses are offered at the following prices:   

  • Two-credit hour VESi courses will be offered for 30 Contact Hours at $385.

  • Three-credit hour VESi courses will be offered for 45 Contact Hours at $510.

Please be sure to clearly mark "Professional Development Hours" when registering for the course.  "Professional Development Hour" Registrations must be made by mail or phone.

 

How do you register for a VESI course for Professional Development Hours?

- To register for a VESI course for PD Hours, please call 217-228-5420 or fill out the registration form in your Graduate Credit Workshop Brochure and mail to Quincy University-Graduate Credit Workshops.   Be sure to clearly mark "PD Hours" on your registration form.  You cannot register online for Contact Hours.
